Day 11
I had full intentions of seeing a few plays immediately after our performance, but as is the downfall for crowded patrons and actors alike, the beckoning of the King's Head was lots stronger! Bangers and Mash may be quickly making its mark as the alternative for my chicken curry fixation.
After enjoying such delights as Crunch, Luck of the Irish (note to King’s Head patrons; do NOT cast that beverage by its formal handle - Irish Car Bomb), and Snakebites, we decided to gallivant to the beer tent. It is here we exercised for the remainder of the night.
The beer tent has and will always be the spot for actors and fringe goers alike to talk about the latest fizzle, how their pageantry runs are going, and any someone else gossip in the works. I had the opportunity to talk to Jeff Martinez - The Legend of Ice Ball (Venue 5). Jeff has the largest elaborate flyer of any mob at that year of achievement's festival, by far. It's a 6 leaf full-colour booklet detailing the array and the process to get him to that mote. He's tired hammered in the reviews, but I judge I'll scrutiny him out today. He seems totally genuine and loves what he's performing.
Only 2 occurrence left; today's performance is @ 11:15 p.m. It'll be interesting to see what our residency is today. Our general strategy of hitting the beer tent with handbills goes out the window, as commonly, very few common people are willing to leave the tent after reality inured. One of the spare performers suggested spending your energy on hitting line ups at the rage / sold out shows. "Get them when they're in line and when they're leaving a welcome manifestation". At least that's what I reckon I remember hearing. In any case, it's superior advice.
I'm off to take a bit off a nap… still be Needy some tide to recover from yesterday festivities!
Cheers Winnipeg… you put on an awesome festival. :)
